GPS Disciplined OCXO

GPS disciplined oscillators (GPSDO) with OCXO: accurate 10 MHz and 1PPS references from GNSS, supplied by Vikronix to engineering teams in Scandinavia.

What is a GPS disciplined oscillator (GPSDO)?

A GPS disciplined oscillator, also called a GPSDO or GNSS disciplined oscillator, uses signals from GPS and other GNSS satellites to continuously correct an oven controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO). The result is a frequency reference with the long-term accuracy of the satellite system and the low phase noise of an OCXO.

Typical applications

  • Telecom and 5G synchronisation
  • Test and measurement as a 10 MHz reference
  • Radio, radar and navigation systems
  • Laboratories and time and frequency distribution

Why choose a GPS disciplined OCXO?

  • 10 MHz and 1PPS outputs traceable to GNSS time
  • Low phase noise and good short-term stability
  • Holdover when the GNSS signal is lost

Compare with rubidium frequency standards if you need the best long-term stability and holdover.
