Oven controlled crystal oscillators (OCXO) with low phase noise and high frequency stability for RF, telecom, aerospace and GNSS timing. Supplied by Vikronix in Scandinavia.
An OCXO, or oven controlled crystal oscillator, keeps its quartz crystal inside a small temperature-controlled oven. With the crystal held at a constant temperature, most of the frequency drift caused by changes in ambient temperature disappears. An OCXO oscillator therefore delivers much better stability than a TCXO or a standard crystal oscillator, for example as a 10 MHz reference.
The key parameters are frequency, stability over temperature, ageing, phase noise, supply voltage, warm-up time and package. For the lowest possible phase noise, SC-cut crystals are usually preferred over AT-cut, see SC-cut vs AT-cut quartz crystals.
Vikronix supplies OCXOs from HCD Research, Quartzlock and RFX Group to engineering teams in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, with local support from Malmö. Open a product below for specifications and datasheets, or request a quote for custom frequencies.
